Silk Camera Strap Description Specifications

Traditional Japanese Craftsmanship Meets Modern Elegance

This exquisite strap is crafted using silk braids, long cherished as a stylish accessory for traditional Japanese attire. Offering the delicate beauty unique to silk, it is both sturdy and gentle against the skin. Each piece is meticulously sewn by skilled artisans at a renowned Kyoto braiding shop, ensuring exceptional quality and craftsmanship.

The Timeless Art of Sasanami-Gumi Braiding

This strap features a wide braid known as Sasanami-gumi. The sasanami pattern, one of the most iconic designs in kimono fashion, is also called the Michinaga pattern due to its popularity with Michinaga Fujiwara, a powerful court noble of the Heian period (7941185). Traditionally used as a high-quality decorative element in kimono accessories such as obijime, this distinctive pattern has now been adapted into a refined silk camera strap.

Refined Details for a Sophisticated Look

To highlight the beauty of the silk braid, the strap is finished with simple yet elegant black leather ends, meticulously hand-stitched for durability. The understated all-black leather enhances the straps distinctive design, offering a refined and sophisticated aesthetic.

Comfortable, Versatile, and Stylish

Beyond its stunning design, the silk strap provides a comfortable experience like no other. Its moderate stretch allows for flexibility and ease of use, making it perfect for wrapping around the hand when needed. Combining practicality with timeless style, it is an accessory that seamlessly blends function and fashion.

This silk strap is available in two lengths. This particular version is the shorter option, ideal for wearing around the neck or over the shoulder.
